KARACHI: A retired intelligence officer was found dead inside his home in North Nazimabad on Tuesday, police said.

Although the police believed that 71-year-old Uzair Ahmed died of natural causes, investigators were waiting for the autopsy report of the body from the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to ascertain the cause of death.

“He lived alone in a house in Block D,” said an official at the North Nazimabad police station. “The watchman arrived early in the morning at his home bringing breakfast as his routine. Despite repeated knocks, the door was not opened compelling him to jump into the house where he found the man dead on his bed. He called the neighbours and then police. The deceased was a retired officer of an intelligence agency.”
