Adnan’s Advice

Actor Adnan Siddiqui has a sound piece of advice for his friends and admirers with reference to the holy month of Ramazan.

In a message on social media he implores his followers not to waste food. Instead of trashing leftover food, he says we should give it to the needy. Absolutely right, Adnan S.

We should make this a habit all year round anyway, not just in Ramazan.

Lack of Class

Last week, actress Saboor Aly’s video (in which she along with model and actress Saheefa Jabbar Khattak are making fun of a man who is cleaning the window of the house where a drama is being shot) went viral, prompting widescale condemnation of the girls’ ‘classist’ remarks. She responded by saying that the man is an AD (assistant director) for the play, and it was an inside joke that they had cracked. Well, even if that were the case, it looks a trifle, if not an awful lot, inappropriate to post something of this nature as an Insta-story, because not all who are watching it are familiar with the ‘inside’ thingy.

Besides, actor Affan Waheed was also there, and he immediately refused to find the actresses’ remarks amusing. Which means he was not in on the joke and behaved like a sensible human being. The social media shaming seems to have worked because the girls later apologised. Hope they have learnt their lesson.

New Girl

Sushant Singh Rajput is turning out to be a Casanova … of sorts. First, he was linked to the pretty-as-a-picture Kriti Sanon, then to his Kedarnath co-star, the vivacious Sara Ali Khan and now, rumour has it, that he is dating someone pretty well-known in showbiz circles.

Her name is Rhea Chakraborty and she is a former VJ who has also worked in a Bollwyood movie Merey Dad Ki Maruti. Interesting! Be careful Sushant S.R., don’t try and give a chakkar to this gal, because she’s already a Chakraborty.

I Don’t Care

The wait is over. Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s joint collaboration, the song that everyone was looking forward to, is out. It’s called I Don’t Care and it’s darn good.

The reason that it’s good is that it is not a typical pop track — it’s deeper than you might have thought.

It hints at a bout with depression, and might have something to do with Justin B’s pre-marriage days. The lyrics focus on a party at which the protagonist says: With all these people around I’m crippled with anxiety. To be honest Ed S and Justin B, we care.

Lawyer Kim

We don’t know how to react to this nugget of news. Reality TV star Kim Kardashian is going to become a lawyer. Yes, Kim K, a lawyer! She has decided to take a four-year course under an attorney in San Francisco.

This has been made possible because California is one of the four American states that allow people to take exams without physically attending law school. Cool. So, we are now legally bound to keep up with the Kardashians.

Marriage in the Offing

Wow and wow! The drop-dead gorgeous Katrina Kaif believes in the institution of marriage. This she revealed on Arbaaz Khan’s talk show in response to the question about ‘settling down’ in life. “As a person, I do believe in the institution of marriage and having kids.”

When needled about getting proposals on a regular basis from her fans, she responded, “It’s good to know that there are certain people who are feeling this kind of intense emotion.” Of course, there are individuals who are utterly devoid of this ‘emotion’, for example, Salman Khan. Isn’t that right Katrina K?
