KARACHI: Rider Nazil Hussain piloted home a brace of winners as two favourites and joint favourites won in a small card of three races that took place in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

Nazil first guided favourite bay mare Sassy Gold to an emphatic five lengths victory over Aas Pass to clinch the opening race. Sassy Gold was placed third on board in her last outing on April 27.

Mare Killing Eyes secured third spot two-and-a-half lengths away with mare Palwasha completing the frame beaten by distance among five starters.

Picking up from where he had left Nazil rode seven-year-old bay horse Beat The Clock to a smart two lengths victory over Salam-e-Kaif to clinch the last race which was also feature event.

Co-favourite Pari settled third further edged by five lengths while Tip Top completed the frame.

Beat The Clock who set the pace right rom the word go made emends of back to back second place finishes in the preceding races.

The field was reduced to six horses following withdrawal of Sher Khan before the race.

Three-year-old public fancy bay colt Shining Arrow also atoned to previous defeats galloping to facile four-and-a-half lengths victory over Sohrab-e-Bhakkar to annex the second race.

Pick Power and Don Khalifa occupied the next two places on board respectively.
