Pakistan taekwondo team to feature in world championship

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Taekwondo team is in Manchester, United Kingdom to participate in WT World Taekwondo Championship which ends on May 20.

A press release by the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation said the national side aims to get exposure during the event which will also help them prepare for the South Asian Games in Nepal this year and also for the 2020 Olympics qualifying round in China.

The federation expects Pakistan players to improve their world ranking through featuring in the event.

The Pakistan squad includes Shahzaib Khan (-54kg), Haroon Khan (58Kg) and Rab Nawaz (74kg) Naqsh Hamdani will be seen in action in the women’s -57 kg category while Aneila Asfar will participate in the -53kg category.
