ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza on Tuesday assumed the charge of his office.

At the time of nomination as special assistant, Dr Mirza was in Cairo.

In his introductory meeting with officers of the ministry, Dr Mirza said performance, transparency and merit would be his guiding principles in discharge of his duties as minister.

The process of reforms in health sector in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan would be fast tracked.

The minister said steps would be taken to provide relief to the citizens and bring tangible change in health delivery.
