LAHORE: A minor maid was found dead in a swimming pool at the residence of her employer in Faisal Town here on Monday.

The incident surfaced when the family found the body of 11-year-old ‘H’ floating in the pool of the home and alerted the police.

Police later arrested her 17-year-old maternal uncle ‘S’ on suspicion of killing the girl after rape.

The Model Town SP (Operations) told Dawn that ‘S’ was also employee at the residence owned by Ibrahim where the murder incident occurred.

He said on the day of the incident the family had gone for some work, leaving both employees alone.

The SP said as the police reached the spot and removed body of the girl, they found some marks on her back which alerted the investigators.

On questioning, the girl’s maternal uncle frequently changed his statements, he said adding that later he confessed to raping her.

In order to conceal his crime, the suspect drowned her in the swimming pool, the SP said.

He said as the parents of the girl were informed about the crime, they were convinced to send her body to the city morgue for postmortem to further dig out the facts.
