[Meanwhile, as reported by our correspondent in Karachi,] The Karachi Sea Customs will observe an ‘Efficiency and Courtesy Week’ from today [April 21] to undertake “an exercise in self-discipline and efficiency and to go through a course of training and learning”. The Customs officials, who deal with about 10 lakh people annually, mostly foreigners and diplomats, will not only aim to improve upon the public dealings during the week but will also strive to better themselves individually by being punctual and working harder at the office.
