PARACHINAR: A mudslide killed three women and injured as many in central tehsil of Kurram tribal district on Monday. The incident occurred when the women were digging earth for repairing a mud house.

Officials confirmed the deaths of three women in the incident which took place in Ghakhi area, east of Parachinar. Locals said the women were buried alive when earth moved. They rushed to the site and used spades to retrieve the women.

Three bodies were recovered while three others were rescued. They were shifted to a hospital in Sadda tehsil. Doctors said that two women were in serious condition. The deceased and wounded women belonged to the same family, residents said.
