LAHORE: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar called on Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Husain and Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi at their residence here on Monday.

Chaudhry Shujaat assured CM Buzdar of his party’s support and said Punjab Minister Ammar Yasir’s resignation had been withdrawn and he would attend office from Tuesday (today).

Yasir had resigned a month ago on complaints that he was not empowered in his ministry. Of late the PTI and PML-Q resolved their differences.

In the meeting PML-Q MNAs Moonis Elahi, Salik Hussain and Hussein Elahi, and Rasikh Elahi and CM’s spokesman Dr Shahbaz Gul were also present.

Felicitating CM Buzdar on performing Umrah, Shujaat said: “You need not to worry as our party will continue supporting the government.”

During the meeting, views were also exchanged regarding the Punjab Assembly matters, future legislation and development projects in the province.

It was decided that in Punjab work would shortly be resumed on such mega projects involving foreign investment which were closed down during the previous era. The projects were to generate employment for thousands of people. In this respect work would [firstly] be restored on Al-Nahyan Centre, Lahore, so that maximum number of people could get employment.
