KARACHI: Several parts of Karachi received light showers on Monday when a fresh system of rains entered the city, which Met officials said could stay for another two to three days.

Temperature in the metropolis also dropped as a result of light rain in different parts of the city, including Surjani Town, New Karachi, Sohrab Goth, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Malir, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Nazimabad, M.A. Jinnah Road, SITE area, Liaquatabad, Orangi Town etc.

“The weather is expected to remain cloudy for a couple of days with colder westerly winds blowing at the speed of 11 nautical miles per hour,” said a Met official. “The temperature dropped to 21 degrees Centigrade and is expected to remain around this level for the next few days. The humidity level was recorded at 76 per cent.”

The city last month experienced two spells of moderate to heavy rains turning the weather colder. For the next 24 hours, the Met office said mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the province, including Karachi. However, a scattered downpour could be experienced in parts of the city.
