KARACHI: Honda Atlas Cars Ltd (HACL) unveiled profit after tax (PAT) at Rs2.081 billion for the half year ended Sept 30, translating into earnings per share (EPS) at Rs14.57.

It represented a decline of 43pc over PAT of Rs3.704bn and EPS at Rs25.94 in corresponding period of previous year. The erosion in earnings was led by increase in administrative expenses and operating costs while finance costs stood reduced.

Net sales improved to Rs49.672bn, from Rs43.948bn in same period last year.

Coil coating plant: AkzoNobel’s coil coating plant has started production in Lahore, according to a company release.

The plant has been built in collaboration with the International Steel Limited via a technology transfer agreement.
