LAHORE: As many as 11.8 million children have so far been inoculated during the first six days of the ongoing anti-measles campaign.
Health Services Director General Dr Munir Ahmad said on Sunday that so far, the health department teams had vaccinated 60 per cent of the targeted children in the age group of six months to seven years.
He said the target for 12-day vaccination campaign, concluding on Oct 27, was to inoculate 19 million children.
“A total of 100,000 trained workers constitute 15,600 teams that are vaccinating the children. All deputy commissioners are monitoring the campaign on a daily basis in their respective jurisdictions. Moreover, 10 special teams are also monitoring kit camps set up for vaccination,” said Dr Munir.
He appealed to the parents that if they had still not got their children vaccinated, they should immediately benefit from the free facility and get inoculated them against measles.
