KARACHI: The body of a young man was found near the Seaview area on Monday, police said.

The Darakhshan police said that the body of the man, who appeared to be in his early 20s, was retrieved near ‘Changi Mangi’ area.

The corpse was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctors confirmed that he died of drowning. Later, the body was shifted to the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth for want of identification.

Suspected gangster held

A suspected gangster was arrested after an ‘encounter’ in Lyari’s Chakiwara area, said City SSP Dr Samiullah Soomro on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, the police carried out a raid near Adam Khan Road late on Sunday night and arrested the suspect, identified as Ahmed Dost, in an injured condition.
