SHEIKHUPURA: A woman on Thursday approached the local press club to seek justice.

‘S’ , a resident of Khanqah Dogran, told journalists that her daughter, a class-IX student, developed friendship with another girl of her class. A month ago, the girl asked her daughter to visit her home.

The woman said her daughter went to the house of the girl who went to fetch some eatables. She said in the meantime, girl’s brother ‘Sh’ entered the room and allegedly raped her.

The ‘rapist’ made a video and threatened her daughter to continue to visit his house otherwise he would upload the footage on social media, the woman alleged adding the suspect used to rape her daughter.

The woman said her daughter told her about the issue. She said she approached the Khanqah Dogran police to get a case registered against the suspect but police did not entertain her application.

The woman said she had no option except to visit the press club. When the district police officer was approached, he said action would be taken as per law.

Meanwhile, human rights organisation district chairman Rana Adeel Anjum demanded that the chief minister and IG intervene in the matter and provide justice to the victim family.
