BAHAWALPUR: The Sammasatta police claim to have smashed a gang involved in sale of fake mobile phone SIMs.

The DPO’s PRO said a police team headed by a DSP tracked down the gangsters who confessed to having access to Nadra’s CNIC verification system through which they would activate SIMs.

Police arrested Muhammad Abu Bakr Usman, Muhammad Aqeel and Muhammad Kashif who said they would activate SIMs and sell these in northern areas and other parts of the country.

DPO Dr Muhammad Iqbal appreciated the police team’s efforts and arrest of gangsters.
