HARIPUR: Four people were killed and 10 injured when a Rawalpindi-bound passenger van fell into a nullah after colliding with another vehicle on the Hazara Motorway here on Friday night.

The cause of the accident occurred near Chak Shah Mohammad village was reckless driving, the police and witnesses said.

The city police quoted one of the passengers, Abid Hussain of Balakot as saying that the van going from Mansehra to Rawalpindi overturned and fell into a roadside nullah after colliding with another vehicle on the motorway.

The dead were identified as Abdul Wahid, Sadaqat Ali, Rafaqat Hussain and Qari Mohammad Ishaq.

The bodies and injured were shifted to the district headquarters hospital, Haripur. Those reported to be in critical condition were taken to Ayub Medical complex, Abbottabad.

Police have registered the case and started further investigations.
