LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and Pakistan Muslim League-Q on Wednesday held a joint parliamentary meeting and decided a strategy for the secret-ballot election of speaker and deputy speaker in Punjab Assembly.

The PTI in mutual agreement with the PML-Q has nominated Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as speaker’s candidate and Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari (of PTI) from south Punjab for the deputy speaker’s slot.

‘Over 180’ MPAs participated in the meeting hosted by PTI’s nominated Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar at a local hotel.

PTI Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi as well as Chaudhry Sarwar and Pervaiz Elahi briefed the MPAs about the speaker and deputy speaker election process.
