DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Former provincial agriculture minister and PTI candidate for PK-99, Sardar Ikramullah Khan Gandapur, who was martyred in a suicide attack on Sunday, was laid to rest in his native Kulachi town here on Monday.

Meanwhile, an injured police constable also succumbed to his injuries in hospital, taking the toll from the blast to two.

The candidate was going to attend a corner meeting in connection with his election campaign at Mohallah Kamal Khan in his vehicle when a suicide bomber appeared in a narrow street near Noori Darbar and blew himself up near his vehicle.

As a result, Ikramullah, his driver Mohammad Ramazan, two police personnel and two others got injuries.

The other injured were identified as constables Abdur Raziq and Dil Nawaz, PTI supporter Najeeb Shah and a passerby Saifur Rehman.

Gandapur’s funeral prayers were offered at Kulachi Degree College ground. A large number of people, including PPP provincial general secretary Faisal Karim Kundi, PTI candidate Yaqoob Shiekh, JUI leader Haji Abdur Rashid, station commander Brig Mohammad Atif, DPO Zahoor Babar Afridi, DC Nauman Afzal Afridi, and leaders of political parties participated in the funeral.

The police constable Dilnawaz’s funeral was held at the police lines.
