PESHAWAR: Another main pipeline of SNGPL was damaged by Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) crew in Chamkani area, causing suspension of natural gas supply to many localities here on Thursday.

According to an official of SNGPL, the 12-inch and 8-inch main supply lines near Zakori Bridge have been damaged, suspending gas supply to GT Road areas from Tarnab to Jinnah Park, Khyber Road, Peshawar walled city, cantonment area, Corps Commander House, Governor House, Chief Minister House, etc.

The consumers complained that they faced problems during peak cooking hours as the supply of natural gas was suspended all of a sudden at about midday and there was no alternative source to be used for cooking in their kitchens. However, the supply was restored after some hours.

“The pipelines were damaged at about 12 noon and the supply was restored before 5pm,” said an official of SNGPL.

Meanwhile, the consumers urged the provincial government to take notice of the negligence of BRT staff which was repeatedly creating problems for them by damaging the gas pipelines.
