SIALKOT: One hundred and ninety-eight workers of the PML-N were booked in the district for taking out rallies and processions at separate places for going to Lahore to welcome Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz on July 13.

The Saddar police registered a case against 175 PML-N workers, including the party’s district secretary general Shujaat Ali Pasha, for taking out a procession on Sialkot-Daska Road while violating the ban on such rallies and processions.

The prominent among the suspects also included Farooq Ghuman, divisional president of PML-N Youth Wing Gujranwala division, Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmed and Malik Fahad.

The Daska Saddar police also registered a case against 23 PML-N workers, including PML-N Daska City secretary general Naeem Butt, Rana Raza and Hashim Butt, for taking out a rally near Raajoke on Daska-Sialkot Road for going to receive Nawaz in Lahore.

Police said the PML-N workers had also made hate speeches against the law enforcement agencies. However, none of the booked workers was arrested yet.

PTI: The Rangpura police registered a case against PTI leaders, Mehar Kashif, son of PTI candidate Mehar Ashiq for PP 37, Sialkot –III, and Sheikh Kamran, for making fireworks at Jinnah Stadium on arrival of PTI chairman Imran Khan to address a rally on July 15.
