LAHORE: Eight people, four children among them, were injured when a gas cylinder exploded in a South Cantonment salon on Sunday.

Reports said gas leakage led to a cylinder blast at a salon in South Cantonment’s Keerkot area (Nadirabad police jurisdiction). Eight people including a barber, his customers and children playing in the street nearby suffered injuries.

Police and a Rescue 1122 team responded to emergency calls and shifted the injured to hospital where they were said to be stable.

Police also collected forensic evidence and recorded statements of the eyewitnesses.

Those injured were Aslam Saddique, 50, Riaz Tariq, 22, Ejaz Mukhtar, 35, Qaisar Aslam, 30, Adeel Qaiser, 6, Zain Faisal, 8, Abdur Rehman, 4, and Ahmed Aslam, 5.
