CHARSADDA: Awami National Party president and candidate for NA-24, Charsadda-II, Asfandyar Wali Khan, has declared assets worth over Rs41 million to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

According to the nomination papers filed for the upcoming general elections, the ANP leader was a 24 per cent shareholder worth Rs1.58 million in a UAE-based firm, Noor and Hoor Trading Company, which has been sold out.

Asfandyar’s assets also included a 1998 model Toyota car and Rs550,000 prize bonds.

He has showed that his assets were worth over Rs39.4 million in the previous year, which increased by Rs694,000 in the current year.

Similarly, Qaumi Watan Party chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, who is a candidate for NA-23, Charsadda-I, has declared assets worth over Rs93 million, while his spouse owned assets worth over Rs97 million.

According to the nomination papers, Mr Sherpao owned a bungalow in Islamabad, which is worth over Rs9.3 million and a 2004 model land cruiser, agricultural land, jewellery worth Rs130,000 and bank deposits of over Rs77 million.
