PESHAWAR: In a massive reshuffle, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker government on Thursday transferred 141 officers including administrative secretaries, commissioners and deputy commissioners.

Officials told Dawn that the provincial establishment department earlier shared the lists with the Election Commission of Pakistan, which approved the changes to be made.

“We are now notifying transfers and postings after receiving ECP’s approval,” a senior official at establishment department told Dawn.

The lists of the transferred officers shows that 20 of them are administrative secretaries, commissioners and directors, 18 deputy commissioners and a large number of additional deputy commissioners and assistant commissioners.

They include secretaries, commissioners, deputy commissioners and regional police officers

Administrative secretaries of the administration, energy and power, laboor, excise and taxation, environment, population welfare, law, science and technology and information departments and commissioners of Hazara, Dera Ismail Khan, Mardan and Bannu have been reshuffled.

Senior Member Board of Revenue Zafar Iqbal has been transferred and posted as secretary administration department while Fakhr-i-Alam, awaiting posting, has been given charge of the SMBR office. Administration Secretary Arsahd Majeed, who was holding acting charge of establishment department, has been transferred and made secretary establishment.

Mohammad Salim, the secretary energy and power, who was also holding acting charge of irrigation department, has been transferred and given charge of the irrigation department. Agriculture Secretary Mohammad Israr has been transferred and posted as secretary of excise and taxation department while the secretary of excise department, Javed Marwat, has been transferred and posted as commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan.

Public Health Secretary Nizamud Din has been transferred and posted as secretary of labour department while Khayyam Hassan Khan, the secretary of labour department, has been directed to report to establishment department. Hazara Commissioner Mohammad Akbar Khan has been transferred and posted as secretary of agriculture department.

Law Secretary Asghar Ali has been transferred and posted as secretary of population welfare department while Zafar Ali Shah, the secretary of population welfare, has been transferred and posted as secretary of energy and power department. Environment Secretary Syed Nazar Hussain Shah has been transferred and posted as managing director of Tevta.

Bannu Commissioner Syed Abdul Jabbar Shah has been transferred and posted a commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan while Abdul Ghafoor Baig, the commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan, has been transferred and posted as commissioner of Bannu.

Mardan Commissioner Zakir Hussain Afridi has been transferred and posted as secretary of environment department.

Information Secretary Qiaser Alam has been transferred and posted secretary of information technology department while Dawood Khan, the secretary IT department, has been posted as chairman Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board.

PDMA Director General Motasim Billah Shah has been transferred and posted as additional secretary of finance department and Adil Shah, additional secretary of finance, has been transferred and posted as project director of IMU at education department.

The deputy commissioners of Haripur, Torghar, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Charsadda, Battagram, Tank, North Waziristan, Lower Kohistan, Bajaur, Swat, Malakand, Abbottabad, Swabi, Chitral, Mohmand and Nowshera have been also transferred.

In addition, 29 police officials including regional police officers (RPOs) and district police officers (DPOs) were also transferred; however, a notification in this regard was not issued till filing of this report.

The details show that the transferred police officers include five RPOs and 25 DPOs.

The list shows that Malakand RPO Akhtar Hayat Khan would be transferred and posted as Mardan RPO and Hazara RPO Mohammad Saeed Wazir will be posted as Malakand RPO. Also, Mardan RPO Mohammad Alam Shinwari would be posted as Hazara RPO and Bannu RPO Dar Ali Khattak will be transferred and posted as Dera Ismail Khan RPO.

Dera Ismail Khan RPO Mohammad Karim Khan will be transferred and posted as Bannu PRO.

In addition, DPOs of Mardan, Swat, Abbottabad, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Hangu, Upper Dir, Swabi, Nowshera, Lower Dir, Charsadda, Dera Ismail Khan, Shangla, Battagram, Upper Kohistan, Karak, Haripur, Chitral, Mansehra, Buner, Bannu and Tank would be also reshuffled and posted to other districts.
