ISLAMABAD: As many as 3,318 patients visited the emergency department of Polyclinic during the Eid holidays.

Polyclinic spokesperson Dr Sharif Astori told Dawn that 170 people were brought in after being involved in road accidents over the three days till 2pm on Monday.

“As many as 42 people were brought in by the federal police for medical legal cases due their involvement in accidents of fights. All the examinations were conducted but some of the reports are in process,” he said.

Dr Astori said the outpatient department (OPD) remained closed and therefore, all patients were received in the emergency department.

“All the patients were provided with medical treatment and some were advised to follow up with the OPD after the Eid holidays,” he said.

An official of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences said a large number of people visited the hospital during the holidays but they will compile the data by Tuesday.
