PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau has authorised inquiry against employees of Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) for corruption and corrupt practices.

According to a statement issued here on Sunday, the accused persons had allegedly made illegal appointments in Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in violation of the relevant laws.

The approval was given at the regional board meeting of NAB, presided over by Director General Farmanullah Khan.

The meeting also authorised inquiry against the district education officer, female, Dera Ismail Khan, and others for corruption and illegal appointments.

The board authorised an inquiry against administrative officer, Town Municipal Administration Nowshera, for illegal appointments in the TMA in gross violation of laws.

The accused is said to have also got various contracts of tax collection in the names of his front men.

Besides, the NAB regional board approved filling of supplementary reference against accused Umar Hayat, senior auditor, district account office Shangla, regarding accumulation of illegal assets beyond known sources of his income.
