KARACHI: Southpaw Ramiz Aziz struck a splendid century while guiding Karachi Blues to a commanding 400-9 in their first innings against Dera Murad Jamali on day one of the third-round Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-II fixture here on Sunday.

Opening to bat first after Rameez Raja won the toss at the TMC Ground, Karachi Blues battered Dera Murad Jamali bowlers with the left-handed Ramiz scoring 108 from 128 deliveries with the aid of 10 boundaries and a brace of sixes.

Young all-rounder Fahaddis Bukhari made 55 (65 balls, nine fours) as he and Ramiz added 139 for the fifth wicket. Opener Jaahid Ali struck a dozen boundaries in making 68 off 96 balls.

By stumps, the visitors were in tatters at 8-2.

Sialkot reached 24-0 after restricting Larkana to 228-9 at the National Stadium. Paceman Adnan Ghaus stood out with excellent figures of 5-59 in 16 overs.

Multan dominated Quetta by bowling the visitors for a 173 at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

But stumps on day of three, the hosts had collected 66 without loss.

Bahawalpur enjoyed a good at their Dring Stadium as Abbottabad managed a modest 214 all out in 58.2 overs. Slow left-armer Mohammad Imran Jr starred with five wickets for 55 runs in 16.2 overs.

By close of play Bahawalpur had progressed to 118-2 with opener Mohammad Wasim still at the crease with a 113-ball knock of 62, which includes nine hits to the fence.
