KARACHI: Umaid Asif, one of the heroes of the recently-held Pakistan Super League, bagged five wickets to enable State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) bowl out Omar Associates for 113 at the start of the fourth-round Patron’s Trophy Grade-Ii match here on Sunday.

Umaid returned figures of 5-41 before SBP ended day one of the three-day fixture at the UBL Sports Complex at 139-4 with opener Israrullah contributing an undefeated 63.

Yasir Mushtaq slammed an unbeaten 100 (296 balls, seven fours and two sixes) as Civil Aviation Authority (CCA) closed their first innings at 252-9 against K-Electric at the SBP Sports Complex.

By stumps K-Electric were 17-0.

Naby were 79-2 after dismissing Haideri Traders for 238 at the NBP Sports Complex where off-spinner Raza-ul-Hasan snared five wickets for 82 runs.

Meanwhile, heavy rain in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad saw no play in all three Pool ‘C’ matches.

Bowlers were on song at the Rana Naved-ul-Hasan Academy in Sheikhupura as 17 wickets stumbled in the Pool ‘B’ fixture between Port Qasim and Ahmed Glass.

Discarded Pakistan opening batsman Khurram Manzoor was a surprise element with the ball as he captured five wickets for 24 runs as Ahmed Glass were shot out for 100 in 44.3 overs.

Port Qasim, in reply, slumped to 139-7 at draw of stumps.

Agha Salman, another PSL find this season, was out for 97 (107 balls, 18 boundaries) while guiding Brighto Paints to 336 all out against Ghani Glass in the Pool ‘D’ encounter at the LCCA Ground in Lahore.

Ali Usman excelled for Ghani Glass with seven wickets for 105 runs before side reached stumps at 4-0.
