BUNER: A seven-year-old girl was killed and her small brother suffered burns when their family’s rivals allegedly set fire to their house here on the night between Saturday and Sunday.

The Pir Baba police confirmed the incident and said the girl, Mansha, died on way to Pacha Kalay hospital, while the boy, Huzaifa, 4, was admitted there with minor burns.

Police quoted Abid Ali, an uncle of the children, as saying that two accused, Mohammad Yousaf Khan and Mohammad Salem Khan, of the same village broke into their house during the night. He said that they sprinkled petrol all over the place and set fire to it.

As a result, the house was torched and Mansha and Huzaifa received burns. Later, Mansha died while being taken to hospital. The police arrested the accused and presented them in court, which sent them to judicial lockup.
