KARACHI: Three suspects were arrested for allegedly kidnapping and attempting to rape a nine-year-old girl in the Soldier Bazaar area, police said on Monday.

Area SHO Rafay Tanoli said that the three young men, who are in their early teens, abducted the girl outside her home in Gul Rana Society near Guru Mandir on Sunday night. They took her to a nearby place, where they tied her and put a piece of cloth in her mouth.

In the meantime, another girl who saw the kidnapping informed her father about the incident who alerted the abducted girl’s parents and neighbours, the SHO said, adding that they rushed to the spot and got the girl released from the three suspects.

The girl’s family along with her neighbours approached the police on Monday morning and lodged an FIR under the relevant laws.
