HYDERABAD: Three armed men intercepted an employee of a construction company and snatched an amount of Rs4.35 million from him at Hussainabad roundabout here on Tuesday.

The victim, Rehan Memon, along with Mohammad Ali Soomro, had withdrawn the amount from a private bank’s branch located in the Saddar area. They were intercepted by the muggers, who snatched the money and fled towards the Kotri area, Memon said.

He said he had kept Rs50,000 in his pocket and the rest of the money in a bag.

According to Hyderabad SSP Pir Mohammad Shah, one of the suspects was later identified which will help catch the gang. He claimed that the identified suspect was a resident of Kotri.

Citing initial investigation, the SSP said that a fourth suspect was in touch with the three muggers over mobile phones.

No FIR was lodged at the Hussainabad police station till late in the evening.
