In pictures: Remembering Asma Jahangir — a fierce champion of human rights

A few snapshots from Jahangir's life highlighting her achievements and causes.

Arguably one of Pakistan's fiercest and most outspoken champions of human rights, Asma Jahangir was a polarising but respected and awe-inspiring figure.

A pro-democracy activist, Jahangir was vocal about the rights of women and minority communities. She advocated freedom of speech, and often highlighted the plight of missing persons in Pakistan.

She passed in away in Lahore on Feb 11, 2018 at the age of 66 after suffering cardiac arrest.
