RAWALPINDI: A woman reportedly committed suicide by jumping into Soan River in Bahria Town Phase VI on Monday, police and rescuers said.
The divers from Rescue 1122 and police reached the scene and started efforts to recover the victim.
The emergency service said none of the relatives turned up to collect her body.
The rescue operation was suspended due to darkness.
A senior police official told Dawn that Navy divers would be called in on Tuesday morning to recover her body.
