QUETTA: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Personnel arrested a top leader of a banned organisation during an operation in the Killi Khaizi area on Monday.

Official sources said the CTD personnel had on a tip-off about the presence of a wanted terrorist in the area arrested Shaira Lehri, one of the top leaders of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ).

CTD officials said that the arrested militant had carried out terrorist attacks in different areas of Balochistan, including attacks on the Hazara Shia community.

“The accused has been handed over to the authorities concerned for interrogation,” the sources said.

Shaira Lehri carried a bounty of Rs1 million.
