LYALLPUR: Begum Viqarrun-Nisa Noon, Chairman West Pakistan Red Cross Society, yesterday [Dec 6] stressed the need for extension of the Lyallpur leper home to cater to the needs of the northern areas of the province also.

Addressing the members of the District Red Cross Society here she commended the services of the district Red Cross Society rendered during the Indo-Pakistan war in 1965 for the welfare of the army men.

She also appreciated the effort made by the people of Lyallpur for the rehabilitation of the war-affected persons. Begum Noon advised the members of the society to work with enthusiasm in peace time as they did during war.

She said that the Provincial Government had allowed the Provincial Red Cross Society to introduce the lottery system for raising funds. Begum Noon also visited the local deaf and dumb school. — Agency

[Meanwhile, as reported by our correspondent in Dacca,] Pakistan has got enough potential for development of tourism particularly from its resources of world wildlife if the same was properly conserved.

This was stated by Mr Guy Mountfort, leader of the visiting World Wildlife Fund Project team, in a discussion meeting with the East Pakistan Chief Secretary yesterday [Dec 6].

The World Wildlife Fund Project team led by Mr Guy Mountfort, on their return here from a visit to Sundarbans and forest areas in Sylhet, met the Chief Secretary, Government of East Pakistan, in his office here.
