LAHORE: Honda Chenab qualified for another final after edging past Black Horse Paints/Artema Medical 7-5 in the December Polo Cup 2017 at the Lahore Polo Club (LPC) ground on Thursday.

Bilal Haye and Ahmed Ali Tiwana played key roles in the triumph, contributing three goals each, while Ghulam Mustafa Monnoo added one. From Black Horse Paints, Hamza Mawaz Khan played equally good scoring all three but he couldn’t get enough support from his teammates. The losers started the match with a two-goal-handicap advantage, which the winners had levelled in the beginning of the second round, as Ahmed Tiwana and Bilal Haye had hit one each. And then the winners came on the driving seat in the second round when Hamza Mawaz converted a 60-yard penalty hit to earn a 3-2 lead.

In the third round, the winners further dominated adding three more goals through Bilal, Mustafa Monnoo and Ahmed Tiwana but the losing side also struck two goals through Hamza as the score was 6-4 in favour of Honda Chenab.

In the final round, both teams scored one each to make the tally.

In another match, fine play by ace Saqib Khan Khakwani helped Porsche to earn a 9-3 win against Diamond Paints. He scored six. Agha Musa (2) and Bilal Noon (1) are the other scorers. For the losing side, Mir Huzaifa (2) and Raja Arslan Najeeb (1) were the scorers.
