KARACHI: Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair pledged his wholehearted support for cricketers with physical disability after a Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association (PDCA) delegation paid a visit to the Governor’s House here on Wednesday.

The delegation, comprising PDCA patron-in-chief Saleem Karim, honorary secretary Amiruddin Ansari and vice-presidents Fawad Mustafa and Dr Noman Palekar, was warmly greeted by the governor.

The governor, a diehard cricket fan, said on the occasion that the disabled national team had made the nation proud through its impressive performance, which was an example for the common people.

“You are the ambassadors of Pakistan and have proved this fact through excellent teamwork, both on and off the field,” the governor said while addressing the delegation. “The entire country is proud of Pakistan’s disabled cricketers who have done wonders in such a short span of time.”

While expressing his full support for disabled cricket and assuring the PDCA delegation complete cooperation in hosting a four-nation disability tournament here in Karachi, the governor promised appropriate security arrangements needed for the event.

The PDCA delegation offered its gratitude to the governor for expressing his support.

On this occasion, the delegation presented a honorary shield to the governor.
