PARACHINAR: A woman and her daughter suffocated to death due to gas leak in a room of their house here on Saturday night.

The incident occurred in Shingak area near the Afghan border.

According to family, wife of Wazir Ali and his young daughter went to sleep without switching off gas heater in their room due to severe cold weather.

They said the ill-fated mother and her daughter fainted due to leakage of gas.

In the morning, other family members knocked at the door but they got no response, at which they broke open the door and found the mother and her daughter lying motionless in their beds. They shifted the two to the agency headquarters hospital in Parachinar, where doctors proclaimed them dead.
