KASUR: The Khudian police arrested a man suspected of attempted rape of a minor girl at Amin Town on Sunday.

According to the first information report, the six years old girl was in the street near her house when the suspect abducted her and took to a deserted place. The locals rushed to rescue her when she raised a hue and cry.

Later, the child’s father and other people of the area went to the house of suspect to register a complaint. This annoyed the suspect who unleashed his dog on them, leaving three, including an eight-year-old girl, injured. Two people received minor injuries while the girl had to be hospitalised with serious injuries on her face.

The police arrested the suspect after registering a case against him under sections 376, 511 and 289 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

ROBBERY: A gang of 15 robbers deprived a family of gold and cash worth about Rs3m at village Noorpur Jattan in the limits of Sadar Chunian Police Station.

The unidentified robbers stormed into the house of one Muhammad Ramzan at the night between Saturday and Sunday and held the family hostage at gunpoint. They searched the house thoroughly and fled with 35 tolas of gold ornaments, Rs0.9million cash and other valuables.
