NOWSHERA: Dengue claimed another life on Wednesday, taking the death toll to three in Nowshera district.

The victim, Haji Khyber Khan of Kandaro, who was a local leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and a noted social worker, was admitted to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar, last week after being infected by dengue.

The other two dengue victims include Delaram Lala of Nowshera Kalan and Usman Khan, brother of MPA Qurban Khan.

A nine-year-old daughter of provincial additional general secretary of PML-N Ikhtiar Wali was also declared dengue positive and initially admitted to newly-established Qazi Medical Complex Nowshera. However, due to poor facilities at the hospital Mr Wali brought her back to home.

He said administration of the hospital had failed to keep the health facility clean.
