SIALKOT: Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) Director General Maj Gen Azhar Naveed Hayat Khan on Friday condoled with families the killing of civilians in India’s firing across the border.
“The Rangers will give a fitting reply to India whose Border Security Forces (BSF) are targeting the civilian population in Sialkot villages by resorting to unprovoked mortar shelling,” he assured the populace.
During his visit to the shelling-hit border-area villages in Charwah and Harpal sectors along the Sialkot Working Boundary, he expressed solidarity with the grieved families. He also inquired after the injured in hospital.
He said the Punjab Rangers were fully capable of defending every inch of the country and giving a fitting response to the aggression. India was engaged in untold brutality by targeting the civilian population, he said.
The Punjab Rangers DSP also visited forward areas along the working boundary where he was given a briefing on operational, security and training aspects.
Officials said Maj Gen Azhar Naveed also interacted with soldiers performing duties along the working boundary and appreciated their high morale and state of preparedness.
