Three more die of dengue fever

PESHAWAR: Three more people died of dengue fever at the Khyber Teaching Hospital here on Thursday, taking the death toll from the disease to 31.

Arbab Aurganzeb said that his son Bahadur Zeb, 14, died of dengue fever after spending 10 days at the KTH.

According to the Dengue Response Unit of the provincial health department, the other two victims were identified as 50-year-old woman Armarha, a resident of Board Bazaar, and Ehsanullah, 45, of Sufaid Dehri.

On Thursday, screening tests of 1,682 people were conducted of which 270 were found positive for dengue virus, the unit reported, adding that 117 patients were hospitalised on the day and 134 others discharged.
