Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa visited troops deployed on the border in Rajgal valley on the first day of Eidul Azha, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

Director General (DG) ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor shared pictures and a video on Twitter of the COAS hugging and talking to the soldiers in Rajgal valley, where the army recently concluded Operation Khyber-4.

Two soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred and 15 injured during the operation, which was launched to clear out terrorist hideouts from target areas.

Addressing the troops, the COAS said that there is no greater service than protecting the country on an occasion like Eid.

Gen Bajwa lauded the services of the armed forces and vowed to make Pakistan "the best country in the world". He added that there is nothing more important than serving the nation.

"Pakistan is [...] our life," he said. "Nothing [and] no one is above the nation."

Earlier, in his message to the nation, the army chief had said that Eidul Azha was a message of "peace, happiness, fraternity and selfless sacrifice".
