“More than 150 boys and girls of different age categories will contest in the event,” PBF secretary Wajid Ali Chaudhry said.

“The boys will compete in U-15, U-17, U-19 singles and U-19 doubles while the girls would feature in U-17, U-19 singles and U-19 doubles.

“PBF units, National Bank of Pakistan, Karachi Port Trust, Pakistan Police, Army, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Islamabad, AJK and Fata, will field their players in the event,” Wajid said, adding that cash prizes would be distributed among the toppers.

Meanwhile, Wajid said the PBF had picked two technical officials, Amjad Khan (referee) and Dr Saiyed (coach), to attend the referee and coaching course being held in Singapore from Sept 15 to 20.

After passing this course, Wajid said, the referee would become eligible to act as deputy referee in the Nov 9-12 Pakistan International Series 2017 being held in Islamabad where ten countries were expected to participate.

Earlier, Pakistan had no referee who could function at an Asian-level competition, he disclosed.

According to the PBF official, Pakistan’s junior and senior teams would compete in different international-level tournament during coming months.
