LAHORE: The private sectors of Pakistan and Australia should develop sustainable partnerships and find ways to avail the trade and investment potential that exists in the private sectors of the two countries.

This was said by Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner of Australian Trade and Investment Commission John Madew during a meeting with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) acting president Amjad Ai Jawa on Thursday as they held detailed discussions on trade and economic issues.

Mr Madew said “Australia has made a considerable development in dairy and livestock sectors and its experience in these areas can be useful for Pakistan, adding Australian universities are focusing on Research & Development that is a key to boost trade and economy.”

He said that Australian IT companies are finding new partners therefore Pakistani IT companies should avail this opportunity. He added that Pakistan and Australia enjoyed good diplomatic relations and at present, both countries were engaged in cooperating with each other in many fields.
