BUNER: Two sisters were electrocuted in Janabad Bazargay area in the jurisdiction of Jowar police station here on Saturday.

One of the women was identified as Nasreen.

However, the locals blocked the main Swari-Pir Baba Swat road for a while to protest against the staff at the Rural Health Centre, Jowar, where the woman and her daughter were taken to after the mishap.

The protesters alleged that the victims could have survived had the doctors at the RHC provided them timely treatment.

Relatives told police that Nasreen was pushing a pedestal fan in her home when she was electrocuted. They said her sister tried to rescue her but she was also electrocuted.

The relatives said the women were shifted to the nearby hospital, but the doctor declared them already dead.
