LAHORE: Saima Shaukat of Wapda will face ZTBL’s Zoya Khalid in the women’s senior category final of the All-Pakistan National Squash Championships at the Punjab Squash Complex.

In Monday’s semi-finals, Saima needed 20 minutes to defeat Amna Latif of ZTBL 9-11, 11-5,1 1-8, 11-5, while Zoya ousted Wapda’s Riffat Khan 11-8, 11-7, 6-11, 11-6 after a 28-minute tussle.

In the girls’ under-15 event, Noor-ul-Ain Ijaz of SNGPL beat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Nimra Aqeel 11-6, 9-11, 11-3, 13-11 to set up a final clash with Laiba Ijaz of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after the latter outplayed her provincial mate Eman Jabeen 11-4, 11-6, 11-3 in the other semi-final.

In girls’ under-19 Girls’ section, Komal Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa overpowered Aiman Shahbaz of SNGPL 11-5, 11-4, 2-11, 11-4 and PIA’s Amna Fayyaz beat Noor-ul-Huda of SNGPL 11-7, 6-11, 11-7, 11-4 to progress through to the final.

In the boys’ segment, the under-17 title-decider will be staged between Naveed Rehman of Sindh Mohammad Saqib Iqbal of PAF. In their last-four fixtures, Naveed overcame SNGPL’s Farhan Hashmi 11-8, 11-7, 12-10 and Saqib tamed Malik Moiz of Punjab 8-11, 11-4, 9-11, 11-4, 11-6 in a five-game thriller.

In the under-19 competition, Uzair Rasheed of Punjab beat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Nasir Khan 12-10, 16-14, 11-5 and SNGPL’s Abdul Qadir outplayed Saifullah of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 11-2, 6-11, 11-8, 5-11, 11-9 to qualify for Tuesday’s final.
