ISLAMABAD: Police have made elaborate security arrangements for the three-day Tableeghi Ijtima which began in I-11/1 on Saturday.

As many as 500 personnel have been deputed at the venue.

Four Quick Response Force teams are patrolling the area around the venue and on IJP Road.

Those attending the event were checked with metal detectors and walkthrough gates. A place has been allocated for parking vehicles.

The senior police officials are supervising the security arrangements. Besides, Special Branch and Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) will also perform their duties at the Ijtima.

Nine pickets have also been set up to make checking process effective.

Three zonal SPs, SDPO Industrial Area and SHO Sabzi Mandi police would supervise all the security measures.

Bomb disposal squad teams have also been deputed at the venue.

Policemen in plainclothes have been assigned the task to collect intelligence and officers will check any suspicious and unattended bag in coordination with volunteers and organisers of congregation.
