Moin Khan was an outstanding cricketer and also a part of "history in the making" for green-shirts, exactly quarter of a century ago.
His batting and wicket-keeping skills were second to none.
I remember Moin Khan's lofty sixes over the rope during the 1992 world cup in Australia and New Zealand and his amazing and electric stumping skills coupled with wonderful slip catches.
Well done Moin Khan. Keep it up and hang on tough. May God Almighty bless you and your loved ones. Aameen, Tsum Aameen.

Can someone also interview Aamir shohail on 92 world cup, I ve seen every player except for Amir sohail, praising Imran for his captaincy and acknowledging the fact that, winning the world cup was only possible because of his positive frame of mind and leadership. Does anyone know the reason. ?

Awesome performance by each and every one. Moin was a calming factor in the team, like a wicket keeper should be.

@MHS It was Miandad who actually turned the table around and was not even the part of the initial squad and after loosing first few matches and getting with the lowest point on the chart, Imran Khan finally decide to get Miandad to rescue the troubled green shirts and have him flew to Australia late in the tournament. Miandad not only performed by his bats but his wits, as he was the one calling the shots mostly on the fields and showed his super leadership skills.

@MHS
In a program on Samaa TV, former Pakistan captain Aamir Sohail condemned the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for their video celebrating the silver jubilee of the 1992 World Cup victory.
The video notably omits captain Imran Khan, Javed Miandad and Amir Sohail

@Adeeb There was little nepotism those days and Imran Khan would not accepts any sifarishi player. In 1987 Bangalore test Imran Khan flew in Tauseef and dropped his favorite spin bowler Abdul Qadir. During Nur Khan era when Pakistan Cricket, Squash, Hockey, Fencing were world champions there were payers like Mushtaq, Sadiq, Miandad, Asif Iqbal, Iqbal Qasim, Tauseef, Saleem Yousuf, Saleem Jaffar, Mansoor Akhtar etc. Unless the selectors think Pakistan the cricket will go the hockey way.

@wave I hope we never win a world cup again, cause if we do then we will lose the interest from Imran Khan and PTI (which is not a good idea). It has been 25 years since we won the world cup, there are nations such as Australia which have won many world cup since 1992, yet we are still having a party thinking about 1992 world cup.

I wonder how long are we supposed to read only and only about 1992 world cup.25 years have gone and no player of the calibre of that era has been discovered in pakistan.pakistan cricket is on decline since 2003 (retirement of wasim waqar anwar etc.).it hurts to see the condition of team now.beter to stop living in past and think about future.otherwise 10 years down the line pakistan vl be zimbabwe.

I liked his batting and running between the wickets more than his keeping. He ran like a hare and never looked like getting run out. A great team man , entertainer and morale booster

@MHS He was a hopeful of ticket from N League in 2013 election and also appeared in some TV shows as a PMLN member prior to the 2013 election and spoken against Imran Khan. N league was at one point mulling to put him against IK from NA122 but was later dumped. He was hopeful of getting at least the Chairman PCB position but Sethi had done a much greater favour to Nawaz Shareef then Amir Sohail could ever do in his lifetime. now he has turned his guns on N league :)

@Adeeb . Miandad was always part of the team. in 1992 he was considered one the best batsmen playing the cup with Martin Crow ( Viv Richards had retired by then). The very first match Pakistan played against the West Indies on 23rd February 1992. Miandad was the captain for that game (Imran Khan could not play that game because he was sick). Unfortunately, Pakistan lost to the West Indies by 10 wickets. I know that detail because I live in Australia and watched most of the games in the ground.
