LAHORE: Governor Rafiq Rajwana on Thursday decorated 23 professionals with Pakistan civil awards for excellence in various fields in an investiture ceremony held at Governor House.

He bestowed these awards on behalf of the President of Pakistan. Ministers, prominent political personalities, chief secretary, inspector general of police and others guests were present on the occasion.

Five notables who received Sitara-i-Imtiaz included Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, Dr. Muhammad Aslam Noor, Dr. Eice Muhammad, Mustansar Hussain Tarrar and Arif Saeed. President’s Award for Pride of Performance was received by Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Tahir, Abdul Majeed Azhar, Dr. Abu Bakar Shahid, Sarmad Sultan, Rashed Mahmood, Javed Iqbal, Ustaad Ashraf Sharif, Muhammad Zahid Masood, Ammer Elahi and Muhammad Shafi Shakir Shuja Abadi.

Eight professionals who secured Tamgha-i-Imtiaz included Atif Anayat, Naveed Ishtiaq, Nazir Aamer (late), Parveen Malik, Jalil Aali, Shahbaz Husain, Liaqat Ali Warraich and Tanveerul Islam Khwaja (late).
