ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Tuesday announced a medal for Abdul Razzaq, a member of Quetta’s Bomb Disposal Squad who lost his life while defusing a bomb a few days back.

The minister announced that monetary compensation would be provided to Mr Razzaq’s family.

Acknowledging Mr Razzaq’s courageous efforts, Mr Nisar said: “Such officials are the source of pride to the police force and serve as a role model for them.”

He said no medal or financial assistance could repay a life lost in the name of the country, but the nation was bound to acknowledge sacrifices rendered by its valiant personnel.
